Healing Prayer Service
"Are any among you suffering?  They should pray.  Are any cheerful?  They should sing songs of praise.  Are any among you sick?  They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord.  The prayer of faith will save the sick and the Lord will raise them up...The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective."
~James 5:13-17

HEALING PRAYER WORSHIP
Tuesdays at 10:00 am in the Rode Chapel

Whenever we are faced with serious illnesses, it does not happen to our bodies in isolation from our mind and spirit.  What happens to our bodies affects all aspects of our being - body/mind/spirit.  For many, many years in our culture, the medical field focused only on our body's ailments, but neglected to consider a patient as a WHOLE.

The Healing Prayer Service includes three components.  We begin the service with Holy Communion, followed by anointing with oil, and concluding with soaking prayer and the laying on of hands.  This follows the biblical understanding of healing.

This 30 minute informal gathering among Christian friends has become a great source of support for many who face ongoing, chronic conditions.  Most important of all is that it gives each of us a sense of hope of healing as well as an opportunity to minister to others in the congregation who face illness.  We support one another, keep them in our daily prayers and thus experience a true Christian community.

Everyone is invited to be a part of this ministry.  You need not be a church member.  You do not have to sign up to come, just come whenever you are in need or want to pray for others.
