Every Sunday morning at 9:15 a.m., our congregation’s children are welcomed to learn about God’s unconditional love, Jesus’ gentle presence in our lives, and the beautiful lessons of the Holy Bible. And while they’re traveling on their faith journey, the adults may access stimulating opportunities for growing their faith as well. We invite you (yes, you!) to join the Adult Forum in the Fellowship Hall for a series of enlightening mini-forums that will leave you with food for thought all week. You’ll be grateful for this wonderful educational opportunity and you’ll wish you’d brought a friend to share the news. You can bring a friend, you know!
- March 7: Dr. Phil Ruge-Jones will join us to reflect on God's presence in the middle of the brokenness of life. Dr. Ruge-Jones is an Associate Professor of Theology at Texas Lutheran University who performs the Gospel of Mark from memory. He is deeply interested in Luther's theology of the cross. During this session, he will explore themes from his book, “The Word of the Cross in a World of Glory.”
- March 14: No class as we celebrate Spring Break!
- March 21: Dr. Dan Long, our in-house musicologist extraordinaire, will offer a two-series class: "Death in Music." We don't know if he will include Black Sabbath, but we do know he will take us on an historical journey through the weighty land of death, suffering and resurrection as reflected in music of the Church. Dr. Long's classes are engaging for persons at all levels of musical prowess.
- March 28: Dr. Dan Long, "Death in Music" Part 2, the final act.
