SENIOR HIGH YOUTH MINISTRY The Senior High Youth Group consists of youth in the 9th through 12th grades. We meet on Sunday mornings at 9:15 am in the Senior High Youth Room (#206/208) for Bible Study, breakfast and fellowship. Led by caring adults, the group learns about topics of interest to them in an open discussion format, dig into the Bible, share in fellowship time, and have breakfast.
In addition to Sunday morning, the Senior High Youth meet monthly for social and service events. Each summer the group travels together for one week, following a three-year cycle.
Mission / Service – Youth and sponsors travel to Mexico, Costa Rica, or other needy areas to serve and form relationships with new people. These relationships are carried into our daily lives.
Adventure – Youth and sponsors travel to various locations for extreme adventures. Examples of these trips include “destination unknown” trips, and outdoor experiences (white water rafting, climbing, etc.).
Youth Gathering – Once every three years the national ELCA hosts the largest youth gathering in the nation. This 5 day experience includes worship, service, fun, learning, travel and group bonding.
Senior High Youth are also encouraged to take on more leadership roles in the congregation by serving in worship as ushers, lectors, communion helpers, working with children in the congregation, and using their gifts and talents to add to the life of the congregation.
