Welcome to Christ Lutheran Day School!
Christ Lutheran Day School admits students of any race, color, national and ethic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarships and loan programs, and athletic and other school administered programs.
- Eligibility – Children ages two through five years old as of September 1st are eligible for enrollment in Christ Lutheran Day School. Exceptions may be made to meet individual needs.
- Admission Policies – Christ Lutheran Day School is licensed by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services as a preschool for children. Christ Lutheran Day School does not discriminate against any child due to ethnic background, religion, sex, national origin or color. Upon receipt of a Registration Form, Parent/Preschool Consent Form, Medical Information Sheet and appropriate fees a child will be enrolled in the program depending on any vacancies in the appropriate class according to age level and individual needs. Registration is held each spring for families already enrolled in the program and parishioners. Open registration for new students will follow.
- Mother's Day Out – This is an optional program provided for our enrolled but not limited to day school families who find a need for additional child care extending beyond the morning preschool program. A child must be no younger than two years of age and no older than six years. The child must be potty trained. To assure a place for your child in the program we suggest you utilize our monthly reservation form by marking the days you wish to use this service at the beginning of each month. Short term reservations may also be made, as well as emergency drop-in requests for your convenience. However, space is limited and subject to availability in order for us to maintain the appropriate child/staff ratio. Please make requests no later than the day before if possible. The hours for our program are 12 p.m.-4 p.m.. Reservations are taken for full-hour periods only. No quarter or half hours, please. Fees are charged by the hour. If you are more than 15 minutes into the next hour when picking up your child, you will be charged the full hour rate. If a child is not currently enrolled in our day school program an application, medical form and registration fee will be required upon registration.
- Early Bird Care – A staff member will be available to supervise your child beginning at 7:45 a.m. If you need this service, please make special arrangements with the office prior to the day needed or make a notation on the monthly Tuition/MDO Reservation form you will receive each month. If you choose to use this service, please bring your child to the rear door on the Primrose Street side of the church building.
- Visitation – We invite and encourage parents to visit our school, however, September is a time of adjustment, therefore we ask that parents postpone their visits until October if possible. After October please visit and observe anytime. We request that you make each classroom observation no longer than 30 minutes. Please notify the school office of your intended visit before going to the classroom.
- Bad Weather Closing – There are rare times when the school must be closed due to inclement weather. If the Alamo Heights Independent School District schools are closed we will be also. Please listen to local news media for this information.
